CURIUM responded to an urgent request from a waste disposal plant to provide a management solution for a vehicle of asbestos waste that triggered a radioactive alarm. These wastes come from an industrial site that was undergoing site safety before demolition. CURIUM intervened by using portable measuring devices to determine the level of radioactive contamination, collecting samples, and then bringing them back to our laboratory for analysis.

After analysis and investigation, it was found that there are a large number of similar objects on the site. CURIUM identified and calculated the quantity of radioactive objects on a site of over 10000 square meters: over 600 tons of waste with natural radioactivity.
