A nuclear enterprise's ICPE plant (a key environmental regulatory industrial facility in France) using steam has hired CURIUM to address the issue of HCT (total hydrocarbons) labeling in its waste liquids. As part of its process, the waste liquid is recondensed and forms a non radioactive aqueous liquid effluent.
The pollution of HCT prevents these wastewater from being directly discharged into the environment (the original design intention was for direct discharge), which leads to an additional wastewater disposal load on the on-site treatment station of the plant, and these contaminated waste liquids occupy a large number of storage barrels and storage space.
CURIUM We conducted in-depth investigation and analysis of various maintenance product samples that may come into contact with wastewater used in the factory facilities to identify the sources of hydrocarbon pollution. The correlation between two maintenance products (oil and anti-corrosion products) and the wastewater was found through analysis using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometer detector (GC-MS).
CURIUM Internal laboratory
In this way, CURIUM identified the source of pollution through on-site research at the customer's site and analysis in CURIUM's internal laboratory, so that the customer's wastewater is no longer contaminated with hydrocarbons.
In Europe, CURIUM has completed numerous management or technical support projects for environmental cleaning and restoration of retired industrial sites.
In China, CURIUM is a partner of Suez, providing comprehensive environmental cleaning and restoration services for the retirement of industrial sites.
