The customer wishes to dismantle an idle unit for distilling boron trichloride and methyl trichlorosilane. During the reaction process, silane and borane hydrides (water reaction compounds) are also generated. CURIUM has previously conducted detailed research on this process and conducted a HAZOP type risk analysis. The gas in the device is first purified and treated in the gas scrubber designed by CURIUM. All components of the device were decontaminated and subsequently inerted using gas.
