55% concentration nitric acid leakage emergency decontamination

发布时间:2024-04-22 发布者:

A British car manufacturer experienced a nitric acid (55%) leak due to valve issues on the storage tanks in their production workshop. The leakage accident resulted in the complete shutdown of the workshop. In order to resume production activities as soon as possible, emergency intervention is necessary. This business was jointly completed with our UK partner A&A company. Within 36 hours after the accident, the industrial customer resumed production.

CURIUM first identified the source of the leak and repaired the valve. Purification air locks have been installed around the pollution area to prevent accidents or secondary pollution. Then neutralize the leakage of nitric acid with an alkaline solution. Finally, rinse the contaminated area with clean water.

Finally, the purification of the entire contaminated area was verified using pH measurement. Equipment (ventilation ducts, grilles, etc.) damaged by acid solution are also dismantled after decontamination and treated as non hazardous waste.
